The BBC Symphony Orchestra is one of the most renowned classical music ensembles in the world. Founded in 1930, the orchestra has a rich history of performing some of the most iconic works in the classical music canon. The BBC Symphony Orchestra was established by the British Broadcasting Corporation (BBC) with the aim of providing a high-quality orchestra for radio broadcasts. The performance was broadcast live on television, and is now considered one of the greatest performances of the work ever recorded. In 2015, the ensemble was awarded the Royal Philharmonic Society's Ensemble Award, which recognizes outstanding contributions to classical music in the UK.
