Florence Quivar is a renowned American mezzo-soprano who has made a significant contribution to the world of classical music. Born on June 3, 1944, in Philadelphia, Pennsylvania, Quivar grew up in a musical family. Her mother was a church organist, and her father was a jazz musician. Quivar started singing in the church choir at a young age and showed a natural talent for music.
