The Israel Philharmonic Orchestra (IPO) is a world-renowned classical music ensemble based in Tel Aviv, Israel. Founded in 1936, the orchestra has a rich history and has become a symbol of cultural excellence in Israel and beyond. The IPO has also had many distinguished soloists over the years. One of its most famous soloists was the violinist Itzhak Perlman, who made his debut with the orchestra in 1958 at the age of 13. Perlman went on to become one of the most famous violinists in the world, and he has remained closely associated with the IPO throughout his career. The IPO has performed many memorable concerts over the years. One of its most famous performances was in 1991, when it played a concert in Moscow's Red Square to celebrate the 200th anniversary of Mozart's death. The concert was a historic moment, as it marked the first time that an Israeli orchestra had performed in the Soviet Union. The IPO has also won many awards and accolades over the years. In 2008, it was awarded the prestigious Wolf Prize for its contribution to the arts.
