Rogers Covey-Crump is a renowned classical music artist known for his exceptional tenor voice and his contributions to the early music movement. Born on October 5, 1944, in Cleethorpes, Lincolnshire, England, Covey-Crump grew up in a musical family. His father was a church organist, and his mother was a singer. Covey-Crump's love for music was evident from a young age, and he began singing in his church choir at the age of seven. Covey-Crump's musical education began at the Royal College of Music in London, where he studied under the tutelage of renowned vocal coach, Vera Rozsa. He later continued his studies at the Schola Cantorum Basiliensis in Switzerland, where he specialized in early music. Covey-Crump's career as a professional musician began in the 1970s when he joined the Hilliard Ensemble, a vocal quartet that specialized in early music. With the Hilliard Ensemble, Covey-Crump performed extensively throughout Europe and North America, earning critical acclaim for his exceptional tenor voice. The group's unique sound and innovative approach to early music helped to establish them as one of the most influential vocal ensembles of the 20th century. In addition to his work with the Hilliard Ensemble, Covey-Crump has collaborated with numerous other early music groups, including the Tallis Scholars, the Consort of Musicke, and the Academy of Ancient Music. He has also performed as a soloist with many of the world's leading orchestras, including the London Symphony Orchestra, the Berlin Philharmonic, and the Boston Symphony Orchestra.
