The Juilliard String Quartet is one of the most renowned and respected classical music ensembles in the world. Throughout their long and illustrious career, the Juilliard String Quartet has performed and recorded a vast repertoire of classical and contemporary works, including many world premieres. They have collaborated with some of the most celebrated composers and musicians of our time, including Aaron Copland, Elliott Carter, and Yo-Yo Ma. Some of the quartet's most notable performances include their 1951 debut at the Edinburgh Festival, their 1964 performance at the White House for President Lyndon B. Johnson, and their 1986 performance at the Vatican for Pope John Paul II. They have also performed at many of the world's most prestigious concert halls, including Carnegie Hall, the Berlin Philharmonic, and the Royal Albert Hall. The quartet has received numerous awards and accolades throughout their career, including multiple Grammy Awards and a Lifetime Achievement Award from the National Academy of Recording Arts and Sciences. They have also been inducted into the American Classical Music Hall of Fame and the National Museum of American History. Despite their many accomplishments, the Juilliard String Quartet remains committed to their mission of bringing the beauty and power of chamber music to audiences around the world.
