Diego Ortiz was a Spanish composer and music theorist who lived during the Renaissance period. He was born in Toledo, Spain in the early 16th century, but little is known about his early life and education. It is believed that he received his musical training in Spain, possibly in the court of King Philip II. Ortiz is best known for his treatise "Trattado de Glosas," which was published in Rome in 1553.
