Born on August 22, 1957, in Amsterdam, Netherlands, Pameijer showed an early interest in music and began playing the flute at the age of nine. She studied at the Sweelinck Conservatory in Amsterdam, where she received her diploma with distinction in 1981. Pameijer's career as a flutist began in the early 1980s when she joined the Netherlands Ballet Orchestra. She quickly gained recognition for her exceptional talent and was soon invited to perform with various orchestras and ensembles across Europe. In 1984, she became a member of the Netherlands Wind Ensemble, where she remained until 1998. Throughout her career, Pameijer has performed in some of the world's most prestigious concert halls, including the Concertgebouw in Amsterdam, the Berlin Philharmonic, and the Carnegie Hall in New York. She has also collaborated with many renowned musicians, including pianist Gerard Bouwhuis, cellist Pieter Wispelwey, and harpist Godelieve Schrama. In addition to her work as a performer, Pameijer is also an accomplished composer. She has written numerous works for the flute, including solo pieces, chamber music, and concertos. Her compositions have been performed by many leading flutists, including Emmanuel Pahud, Sharon Bezaly, and Peter-Lukas Graf. One of Pameijer's most significant achievements was the founding of the Dutch Flute Academy in 1991. Her recording of the complete works for flute by Dutch composer Theo Loevendie was awarded the Edison Classical Music Award in 1995. She has also recorded works by Bach, Mozart, and Debussy, among others.
