Born on December 30, 1962, in Tallinn, Estonia, Järvi was born into a family of musicians. His father, Neeme Järvi, is a well-known conductor, and his mother, Liilia Järvi, is a music teacher. Järvi grew up surrounded by music and began playing the piano at a young age. Järvi's family moved to the United States in 1980, where he continued his music education at the Curtis Institute of Music in Philadelphia. He studied conducting with Max Rudolf and Otto-Werner Mueller and piano with Jorge Bolet. After graduating from Curtis, Järvi went on to study at the Los Angeles Philharmonic Institute with Leonard Bernstein. Järvi's career as a conductor began in 1985 when he was appointed as the assistant conductor of the Los Angeles Philharmonic. He quickly gained recognition for his talent and was appointed as the principal conductor of the Cincinnati Symphony Orchestra in 2001. During his tenure in Cincinnati, Järvi led the orchestra on several international tours and recorded numerous albums. In 2004, Järvi was appointed as the music director of the Frankfurt Radio Symphony Orchestra, a position he held until 2014. During his time in Frankfurt, Järvi led the orchestra on several tours and recorded several critically acclaimed albums. He also collaborated with several renowned soloists, including Lang Lang, Hilary Hahn, and Frank Peter Zimmermann. Järvi has also served as the music director of the Orchestre de Paris from 2010 to 2016. During his tenure in Paris, Järvi led the orchestra on several tours and recorded several albums.
