Born in 1963 in Paris, France, Malgoire grew up in a family of musicians and was exposed to music from a very young age. Her father, Jean-Claude Malgoire, was a famous conductor and founder of the La Grande Écurie et la Chambre du Roy, a baroque orchestra. Malgoire began playing the violin at the age of six and quickly showed a natural talent for the instrument. She studied at the Conservatoire National Supérieur de Musique et de Danse de Paris, where she was mentored by renowned violinist and pedagogue Jean-Jacques Kantorow. Malgoire also studied with other notable musicians, including Yehudi Menuhin and Nathan Milstein. In 1984, Malgoire won first prize at the International Violin Competition in Sion, Switzerland, which launched her career as a soloist. She has since performed with many of the world's leading orchestras, including the Orchestre National de France, the London Symphony Orchestra, and the Berlin Philharmonic. Malgoire has also collaborated with some of the most celebrated conductors of our time, such as Claudio Abbado, Daniel Barenboim, and Pierre Boulez. Malgoire's repertoire is vast and includes works from the baroque era to contemporary music. She is particularly known for her interpretations of baroque music, which she performs on period instruments. Malgoire has recorded numerous albums, including works by Bach, Vivaldi, and Handel, which have received critical acclaim. In addition to her career as a soloist, Malgoire is also a respected conductor. She founded her own baroque orchestra, Les Dominos, in 1998, which has performed at major festivals and concert halls around the world.
