She was the daughter of a musician and grew up in a musical family. Her father was a conductor and her mother was a singer. Lisa showed an early interest in music and began singing at a young age. Lisa studied at the Zurich Conservatory and made her debut in 1941 at the Stadttheater in St. Gallen, Switzerland. She quickly gained recognition for her beautiful voice and was soon invited to perform at the Vienna State Opera. She made her debut there in 1943 as Pamina in Mozart's "The Magic Flute." Lisa's career took off after her debut in Vienna. She became a regular performer at the Vienna State Opera and also performed at other major opera houses around the world. She was known for her beautiful voice, her elegant stage presence, and her ability to convey emotion through her singing. One of Lisa's most famous roles was as the Countess in Mozart's "The Marriage of Figaro." She performed this role many times throughout her career and it became one of her signature roles.
