Born on December 16, 1986, in Lucerne, Switzerland, Mühlemann grew up in a musical family. Her father was a conductor, and her mother was a pianist. From a young age, Mühlemann showed a keen interest in music and began taking piano lessons at the age of five. Mühlemann's love for singing began when she joined the children's choir at her local church. She quickly discovered that she had a natural talent for singing and began taking voice lessons. Her voice teacher recognized her potential and encouraged her to pursue a career in opera. Mühlemann went on to study at the Lucerne School of Music, where she received a Bachelor of Arts in Music. She then continued her studies at the University of Music and Performing Arts in Vienna, where she earned a Master of Arts in Opera. During her time in Vienna, Mühlemann had the opportunity to work with some of the most renowned opera singers and coaches in the world. Mühlemann's career began to take off in 2012 when she won the prestigious International Mozart Competition in Salzburg. This competition is held every two years and is open to singers from around the world. Mühlemann's performance of Mozart's "Exsultate, jubilate" impressed the judges, and she was awarded first prize. Following her win at the Mozart Competition, Mühlemann began to receive invitations to perform at some of the world's most prestigious opera houses and music festivals. She made her debut at the Salzburg Festival in 2013, where she performed the role of Barbarina in Mozart's "Le nozze di Figaro." She also made her debut at the Zurich Opera House in the same year, where she performed the role of Papagena in Mozart's "Die Zauberflöte." Mühlemann's career continued to flourish, and she began to receive critical acclaim for her performances. In 2016, she was awarded the Swiss Music Prize, which is given to outstanding musicians who have made a significant contribution to the Swiss music scene. The same year, she made her debut at the Metropolitan Opera in New York, where she performed the role of Zerlina in Mozart's "Don Giovanni." Mühlemann has since performed at some of the world's most renowned opera houses, including the Royal Opera House in London, the Paris Opera, and the Bavarian State Opera in Munich. She has also performed at numerous music festivals, including the Lucerne Festival, the Salzburg Festival, and the Edinburgh International Festival. Mühlemann is known for her versatility as a singer and her ability to perform a wide range of repertoire. She has performed roles in operas by Mozart, Rossini, Donizetti, and Verdi, among others. She is also a sought-after concert singer and has performed with some of the world's leading orchestras, including the Vienna Philharmonic, the Berlin Philharmonic, and the London Symphony Orchestra.
