He was a pianist, composer, and conductor who made significant contributions to the world of classical music. His parents were both musicians, and they recognized his talent at an early age. They encouraged him to pursue music, and he began his formal training at the age of six. Franc's early years were marked by his exceptional talent and dedication to music. He studied piano with some of the most prominent teachers of his time, including Margarete Dessoff and Alfred Cortot. He also studied composition with Boris Papandopulo and conducting with Lovro von Matačić. In 1940, Franc made his debut as a pianist with the Zagreb Philharmonic Orchestra. He quickly gained recognition for his virtuosity and musicality, and he went on to perform with many of the world's leading orchestras, including the Berlin Philharmonic, the Vienna Philharmonic, and the New York Philharmonic. Throughout his career, Franc was known for his interpretations of the works of Beethoven, Mozart, and Chopin. He was also a prolific composer, and his works were performed by many of the world's leading orchestras and chamber ensembles. One of the highlights of Franc's career was his performance of Beethoven's Piano Concerto No. 5 with the Berlin Philharmonic under the direction of Herbert von Karajan.
