Maurizio Pollini is an Italian classical pianist who was born on January 5, 1942, in Milan, Italy. He was born into a family of musicians, and his father was a renowned conductor. Pollini began playing the piano at a young age and showed exceptional talent. He studied at the Milan Conservatory and later at the Academy of Santa Cecilia in Rome. Pollini made his debut at the age of 18, performing with the Milan Symphony Orchestra. He quickly gained recognition for his technical skill and musicality, and he began to perform in major concert halls around the world. In 1960, he won the International Chopin Piano Competition in Warsaw, which launched his international career.
