One of Triendl's most notable early performances was his debut at the Salzburg Festival in 2000, where he performed a solo recital of works by Beethoven, Schumann, and Liszt. He also began to collaborate with other musicians, forming a number of successful chamber music ensembles and performing with some of the world's leading orchestras. One of Triendl's most notable collaborations was with the German cellist Alban Gerhardt, with whom he formed a duo in 2003.
