Born in Israel in 1987, Weinberg began playing the cello at the age of six and quickly showed a natural talent for the instrument. He went on to study at the Jerusalem Academy of Music and Dance, where he received his Bachelor's degree in cello performance. After completing his studies in Israel, Weinberg moved to the United States to continue his education. He enrolled in the Master's program at the New England Conservatory of Music in Boston, where he studied with renowned cellist Paul Katz. During his time at the conservatory, Weinberg also had the opportunity to work with other notable musicians, including Yo-Yo Ma and Lynn Harrell. Weinberg's talent as a cellist quickly became apparent, and he began to receive invitations to perform with orchestras and chamber ensembles around the world. He also performed as a soloist with the Boston Symphony Orchestra and the New England Conservatory Orchestra. In addition to his work as a cellist, Weinberg also began to explore conducting. He studied with conductor Hugh Wolff at the New England Conservatory and went on to conduct several orchestras, including the Boston Philharmonic Youth Orchestra and the Jerusalem Symphony Orchestra. In 2014, Weinberg was appointed as the principal cellist of the Detroit Symphony Orchestra, a position he held for three years. During his time in Detroit, he also continued to perform as a soloist and conductor, and he was praised for his musicality and technical skill.
