Born in Quebec City in 1951, Beauséjour began his musical journey at a young age, showing a keen interest in music and demonstrating a natural aptitude for playing the piano. Beauséjour's early musical education was under the guidance of his mother, who was a pianist and music teacher. He later went on to study at the Conservatoire de musique de Québec, where he received his diploma in piano performance. He then continued his studies at the Conservatoire de musique de Montréal, where he studied harpsichord with the renowned musician Kenneth Gilbert. Beauséjour's talent as a harpsichordist quickly became evident, and he began to gain recognition for his exceptional performances. In 1979, he won first prize at the International Harpsichord Competition in Bruges, Belgium, which marked the beginning of his international career. Over the years, Beauséjour has performed extensively throughout Canada, the United States, Europe, and Asia, collaborating with some of the world's most renowned musicians and orchestras. He has also recorded numerous albums, many of which have received critical acclaim and awards. One of Beauséjour's most notable performances was his appearance at the Montreal International Musical Competition in 1980, where he performed Bach's Goldberg Variations. His performance was widely praised, and he was awarded the Radio-Canada People's Choice Award. Beauséjour has also been a frequent guest performer with the Montreal Symphony Orchestra, the Toronto Symphony Orchestra, and the Vancouver Symphony Orchestra, among others. He has also performed at numerous music festivals, including the Festival International de Lanaudière, the Ottawa Chamber Music Festival, and the Vancouver Early Music Festival. In addition to his work as a performer, Beauséjour is also a respected music educator. In 2003, he was awarded the Prix Opus for Performer of the Year by the Conseil québécois de la musique.
