The Rome Opera Theater Orchestra is a classical music ensemble based in Rome, Italy. The orchestra was founded in 1880 as the Orchestra del Teatro Costanzi, and it has since become one of the most renowned orchestras in Italy and the world. The orchestra's founding can be traced back to the opening of the Teatro Costanzi in Rome in 1880. The theater was built by the impresario Domenico Costanzi, who wanted to create a world-class opera house in the heart of Rome.
