The Tasmanian Symphony Orchestra (TSO) is a classical music ensemble based in Hobart, Tasmania, Australia. It was founded in 1948 and has since become one of the most respected orchestras in the country. The TSO was established by a group of music enthusiasts who wanted to bring classical music to Tasmania. The orchestra's first concert was held on June 25, 1948, at the Hobart Town Hall. The concert was conducted by the orchestra's first conductor, Ronald Edwards, and featured works by Beethoven, Mozart, and Tchaikovsky. Over the years, the TSO has had many talented musicians as members.
