In 1956, Franz moved to the United States to further his musical career. He settled in New York City, where he quickly established himself as a talented and versatile pianist. He performed in numerous concerts and recitals, and his performances were highly acclaimed by both audiences and critics. One of the highlights of Franz's career was his performance at the Carnegie Hall in 1962.
