He later continued his studies at the Hochschule für Musik und Theater in Hannover, Germany, with Arie Vardi, and at the New England Conservatory in Boston, USA, with Russell Sherman. These victories helped to establish Jumppanen as one of the most promising young pianists of his generation. Since then, Jumppanen has performed extensively throughout Europe, North America, and Asia, appearing as a soloist with many of the world's leading orchestras, including the Boston Symphony Orchestra, the Berlin Philharmonic, the London Philharmonic Orchestra, and the Tokyo Symphony Orchestra.
