Role:Conductor PerformerBirth:1965 in Schwarzenberg, GermanyGenre:ChoralVocalHans-Christoph Rademann is a renowned German conductor, choir director, and musicologist. He was born on June 5, 1965, in Dresden, Germany. Rademann grew up in a musical family, and his father was a church musician. He began his musical education at the age of six, learning to play the piano and the violin. He later studied musicology, German literature, and philosophy at the University of Leipzig. Rademann's career as a conductor began in 1985 when he founded the Dresdner Kammerchor, a chamber choir that he still directs today. The choir quickly gained recognition for its exceptional performances of Baroque and Classical music. In 1991, Rademann was appointed as the conductor of the Leipzig University Choir, and he held this position until 1998. During this time, he also served as the assistant conductor of the Leipzig Gewandhaus Orchestra. In 1999, Rademann was appointed as the artistic director of the International Bach Academy in Stuttgart, Germany. This position allowed him to focus on his passion for the music of Johann Sebastian Bach. He has since become one of the world's leading interpreters of Bach's music, and his recordings of Bach's cantatas and other works have received critical acclaim. Rademann has also worked with many other orchestras and choirs throughout his career. He has conducted the Berlin Philharmonic, the Leipzig Gewandhaus Orchestra, the Dresden Philharmonic, the NDR Symphony Orchestra, and the RIAS Chamber Choir, among others. He has also been a guest conductor at many international music festivals, including the Salzburg Festival, the Edinburgh International Festival, and the BBC Proms. One of Rademann's most significant achievements was his appointment as the artistic director of the RIAS Chamber Choir in Berlin in 2007. Under his leadership, the choir has become one of the most respected and innovative ensembles in Europe. Rademann has expanded the choir's repertoire to include contemporary music and has collaborated with many composers to create new works. Rademann has received numerous awards and honors throughout his career. In 2000, he was awarded the Bach Medal by the city of Leipzig for his contributions to the interpretation of Bach's music. He has also been awarded the Echo Klassik Award, the Diapason d'Or, and the Preis der Deutschen Schallplattenkritik for his recordings. In 2016, he was awarded the Order of Merit of the Federal Republic of Germany for his contributions to the arts. Rademann continues to be an active conductor, choir director, and musicologist. He is a professor of choral conducting at the University of Music and Theatre Leipzig and is a sought-after guest lecturer and conductor at universities and music schools around the world. He is also a prolific recording artist, with over 100 recordings to his name. His passion for music and his dedication to excellence have made him one of the most respected and admired figures in the classical music world.More....
