Born on October 31, 1971, in Salzburg, Austria, Boesch grew up in a family of musicians. His father was a cellist, and his mother was a pianist. Boesch started playing the cello at the age of six, but he soon switched to singing, which became his true passion. Boesch received his musical education at the Mozarteum University in Salzburg, where he studied with Horiana Branisteanu. He also attended masterclasses with renowned singers such as Dietrich Fischer-Dieskau, Elisabeth Schwarzkopf, and Christa Ludwig.
