Born on October 12, 1973, in Lucerne, Switzerland, Schnyder began playing the piano at the age of five and showed exceptional talent from an early age. Schnyder studied at the Lucerne Conservatory and later at the Juilliard School in New York City, where he earned his Bachelor's and Master's degrees in piano performance. He also studied with renowned pianists such as Maria João Pires, Murray Perahia, and Alfred Brendel, who had a profound influence on his musical development. Schnyder made his debut as a soloist with the Lucerne Symphony Orchestra at the age of 16 and has since performed with many of the world's leading orchestras, including the London Philharmonic Orchestra, the Royal Philharmonic Orchestra, the Vienna Symphony Orchestra, and the Tokyo Philharmonic Orchestra. He has also collaborated with conductors such as Sir Neville Marriner, Vladimir Ashkenazy, and Christoph von Dohnányi.
