He later continued his studies at the Hochschule für Musik und Theater in Munich, where he received his diploma in voice. Seiffert's breakthrough came in 1985 when he won the International Hans Gabor Belvedere Singing Competition in Vienna. In 1986, Seiffert made his debut at the Vienna State Opera, where he performed the role of Tamino in Mozart's "The Magic Flute."
