Role:Conductor PerformerNicholas Milton is a renowned classical music artist who has made a significant impact in the world of music. He was born on the 23rd of August, 1970, in Sydney, Australia. From a young age, Nicholas showed a keen interest in music, and his parents encouraged him to pursue his passion. He began playing the violin at the age of four and later learned to play the piano and trumpet. Nicholas attended the Sydney Conservatorium of Music, where he studied violin and conducting. He graduated with a Bachelor of Music degree in 1991 and went on to complete a Master of Music degree in 1993. During his time at the conservatorium, Nicholas was awarded several prizes for his outstanding performances, including the Hephzibah Menuhin Memorial Scholarship and the Australian Broadcasting Corporation Symphony Australia Young Conductor of the Year Award. After completing his studies, Nicholas began his career as a professional musician. He worked as a violinist with the Sydney Symphony Orchestra and the Australian Chamber Orchestra before turning his attention to conducting. In 1997, he was appointed as the Assistant Conductor of the Sydney Symphony Orchestra, a position he held for three years. Nicholas's talent as a conductor soon caught the attention of music lovers around the world. He was invited to conduct several major orchestras, including the London Philharmonic Orchestra, the Royal Philharmonic Orchestra, and the Hong Kong Philharmonic Orchestra. He also conducted the Australian Youth Orchestra and the Australian Opera and Ballet Orchestra. In 2003, Nicholas was appointed as the Chief Conductor and Artistic Director of the Canberra Symphony Orchestra. In 2010, Nicholas conducted the world premiere of "The Eighth Wonder," a symphony by composer Alan John, at the Sydney Opera House. The symphony was commissioned to celebrate the 75th anniversary of the Sydney Harbour Bridge and was performed by the Sydney Symphony Orchestra. Nicholas has also conducted several performances of Beethoven's Ninth Symphony, one of the most iconic works in the classical music repertoire. In 2012, he conducted a performance of the symphony at the Sydney Opera House to celebrate the 40th anniversary of the Sydney Philharmonia Choirs.
