Tony Bennett is a legendary American singer and musician who has been entertaining audiences for over seven decades. Born Anthony Dominick Benedetto on August 3, 1926, in Queens, New York, Bennett grew up in a family of Italian immigrants. His father, John Benedetto, was a grocer, and his mother, Anna Suraci, was a seamstress. Bennett's love for music began at an early age, and he started singing in church choirs and local talent shows. Bennett's professional career began in the late 1940s when he was discovered by Bob Hope, who saw him performing in a nightclub in New York City.
