Kristjan Järvi is a renowned classical music conductor and composer, known for his innovative and dynamic approach to music. Born on June 13, 1972, in Tallinn, Estonia, Järvi grew up in a family of musicians. His father, Neeme Järvi, is a world-renowned conductor, and his mother, Liilia Järvi, is a music teacher. Järvi's siblings, Paavo and Maarika, are also accomplished musicians. Järvi began his musical education at the Tallinn Music High School, where he studied percussion and piano. He later attended the Manhattan School of Music in New York City, where he studied conducting with Gustav Meier. Järvi also studied composition with John Corigliano and Christopher Rouse. Järvi's career as a conductor began in 1994, when he founded the Absolute Ensemble, a chamber orchestra that blends classical music with jazz, rock, and world music.
