Norris attended the Royal College of Music in London, where he studied piano with Kendall Taylor and composition with Herbert Howells. He graduated with a Bachelor of Music degree in 1974 and went on to pursue a Master of Arts degree in Musicology at the University of London. During his studies, Norris won several awards, including the prestigious Royal Philharmonic Society Prize for his performance of Beethoven's Piano Sonata No. 32 in C minor. After completing his studies, Norris embarked on a successful career as a pianist, performing in major concert halls around the world. He has collaborated with renowned conductors and orchestras, including the London Symphony Orchestra, the Royal Philharmonic Orchestra, and the BBC Symphony Orchestra.
