The Danish National Choir, also known as DR Koncertkoret, is a world-renowned classical music ensemble based in Copenhagen, Denmark. The choir was founded in 1924 as part of the Danish Broadcasting Corporation (DR), and has since become one of the most respected and acclaimed choral groups in the world. The choir's early years were marked by a focus on Danish music, with a particular emphasis on the works of composer Carl Nielsen. Under the direction of conductor Mogens Wöldike, the choir gained a reputation for its precision and clarity of sound, and quickly became a fixture in the Danish music scene. In 2019, the choir performed at the prestigious BBC Proms in London, receiving rave reviews for its performance of works by Danish composer Hans Abrahamsen.
