Anaïs Gaudemard is a French classical harpist who has gained international recognition for her virtuosic performances and innovative approach to the instrument. Born on May 16, 1994, in Marseille, France, Gaudemard began playing the harp at the age of six and quickly showed a natural talent for the instrument. Gaudemard's early musical education was guided by her mother, who was also a harpist. She studied at the Conservatoire à Rayonnement Régional de Marseille and later at the Conservatoire National Supérieur de Musique et de Danse de Lyon, where she earned her diploma with honors in 2013. In 2014, Gaudemard won first prize at the prestigious International Harp Competition in Israel, which launched her career as a soloist. Since then, she has performed with major orchestras around the world, including the Orchestre National de France, the Tokyo Philharmonic Orchestra, and the Israel Philharmonic Orchestra. Gaudemard is known for her innovative approach to the harp, which she sees as a versatile instrument capable of playing a wide range of musical styles. She has collaborated with composers and musicians from diverse backgrounds, including jazz pianist Baptiste Trotignon and electronic music producer Rone. One of Gaudemard's most notable performances was her debut at the Philharmonie de Paris in 2015, where she performed the world premiere of a concerto for harp and orchestra by French composer Bruno Mantovani. The performance was widely praised for Gaudemard's technical skill and musical sensitivity. In addition to her solo career, Gaudemard is also a passionate chamber musician. She has performed with the Quatuor Ebène, the Trio Karénine, and the Ensemble Ouranos, among others. In 2019, she founded her own chamber music ensemble, the Anaïs Gaudemard Trio, which explores the intersection of classical and contemporary music. Gaudemard has received numerous awards and honors throughout her career. In addition to her win at the International Harp Competition in Israel, she was awarded the Prix Thierry Scherz at the Verbier Festival Academy in 2015 and the Prix de la Fondation Safran pour la Musique in 2016. She was also named a laureate of the Banque Populaire Foundation in 2017. Gaudemard's recordings have been widely praised for their technical excellence and musical sensitivity. Her debut album, "Harpiste," was released in 2016 and features works by Debussy, Ravel, and Fauré, among others. Her second album, "Harp & Co," was released in 2019 and features collaborations with contemporary composers and musicians. In addition to her performing career, Gaudemard is also a dedicated teacher. She has taught masterclasses at the Conservatoire National Supérieur de Musique et de Danse de Paris and the Royal Academy of Music in London, among others.
