Born in Paris, France, in 1975, Chateauneuf showed an early interest in music and began playing the guitar at the age of six. Her parents, who were both musicians, recognized her talent and encouraged her to pursue a career in music. Chateauneuf's early years were spent studying classical guitar under the guidance of some of the most renowned guitarists in France. She quickly developed a reputation as a prodigious talent, and by the age of 12, she had already won several national competitions. In 1990, Chateauneuf moved to London to study at the Royal Academy of Music. There, she continued to hone her skills under the tutelage of some of the most respected guitarists in the world. During her time at the academy, Chateauneuf won several awards, including the Julian Bream Prize for Guitar.
