Inge Bønnerup was a Danish classical music artist who was born on August 12, 1935, in Copenhagen, Denmark. She was the daughter of a Danish father and a German mother. Her father was a violinist, and her mother was a pianist. Inge grew up in a musical family, and she started playing the piano at a very young age. Inge Bønnerup's musical talent was evident from a very young age. She started taking piano lessons when she was just five years old, and by the time she was eight, she was already performing in public. Inge's parents recognized her talent and encouraged her to pursue a career in music. Inge Bønnerup studied at the Royal Danish Academy of Music in Copenhagen, where she received her diploma in piano performance in 1957. She then went on to study with the renowned pianist and teacher, Claudio Arrau, in Santiago, Chile. Inge's time with Arrau was a turning point in her career, and she credits him with helping her to develop her own unique style and approach to playing the piano. One of the most memorable performances of Inge Bønnerup's career took place in 1972, when she performed Nielsen's Piano Concerto with the London Symphony Orchestra under the direction of Sir Colin Davis.
