Born in 1981 in the United Kingdom, Winpenny showed an early interest in music and began playing the piano at the age of six. Winpenny's musical education began at the Royal College of Music in London, where he studied under the tutelage of Margaret Phillips and David Graham. He later went on to earn a Bachelor of Music degree from the University of Oxford and a Master of Music degree from the Royal Academy of Music. Throughout his career, Winpenny has been recognized for his exceptional talent and has received numerous awards and accolades. In 2008, he was awarded the prestigious Worshipful Company of Musicians' Silver Medal, which is given to outstanding young musicians who show exceptional promise in their field. He was also a finalist in the 2009 St. Albans International Organ Competition, one of the most prestigious organ competitions in the world. Winpenny's career as an organist has taken him all over the world, and he has performed in some of the most renowned concert halls and cathedrals in Europe and the United States.
