Gythfeldt received her Bachelor of Music degree from the Eastman School of Music in Rochester, New York. She then went on to earn her Master of Music degree from the Manhattan School of Music in New York City. During her studies, she had the opportunity to work with some of the most renowned clarinetists in the world, including Charles Neidich and David Krakauer. After completing her studies, Gythfeldt began her career as a professional musician. She quickly gained recognition for her exceptional talent and was invited to perform with some of the most prestigious orchestras in the world, including the New York Philharmonic and the Boston Symphony Orchestra. In addition to her work as an orchestral musician, Gythfeldt is also a passionate advocate for contemporary music. She has worked closely with many composers, including John Zorn, Elliott Carter, and Steve Reich, to premiere new works for the clarinet. Her performances of contemporary music have been praised for their technical precision and emotional depth. One of Gythfeldt's most notable performances was her solo recital at the Lincoln Center in New York City. The recital featured works by contemporary composers, including John Zorn and Elliott Carter.
