Born in Munich, Germany, on May 22, 1984, Lena grew up in a family of musicians. Her father was a cellist, and her mother was a pianist. Lena's parents recognized her talent for music at a young age and encouraged her to pursue it. Lena began playing the violin at the age of four and quickly showed a natural aptitude for the instrument. She received her first violin lessons from her mother and later studied with renowned violinists such as Ana Chumachenco and Zakhar Bron. Lena's talent and dedication to music led her to attend the University of Music and Performing Arts Munich, where she studied under Christoph Poppen. Lena's career as a professional musician began when she won the first prize at the International Violin Competition "Andrea Postacchini" in Fermo, Italy, in 2003.
