Bernard Labadie is a renowned Canadian conductor and music director, known for his expertise in Baroque and Classical music. Born on April 17, 1963, in Quebec City, Labadie grew up in a family of music lovers. His father was a music teacher, and his mother was a pianist. Labadie started playing the piano at the age of six and later learned to play the organ and harpsichord. Labadie studied music at the Conservatoire de musique de Québec, where he specialized in conducting. He also studied at the Hochschule für Musik in Munich, Germany, where he learned from renowned conductors such as Leonard Bernstein and Seiji Ozawa. Labadie's talent and dedication to music were evident from an early age, and he quickly gained recognition as a rising star in the classical music world. In 1985, Labadie founded Les Violons du Roy, a chamber orchestra that specializes in Baroque and Classical music. Labadie served as the music director of Les Violons du Roy for over 30 years, during which time the orchestra performed at major venues around the world, including Carnegie Hall, the Lincoln Center, and the Royal Albert Hall.
