Born on January 15, 1980, in Berlin, Germany, Berger showed an early interest in music and began playing the piano at the age of five. Berger's talent and hard work paid off when he won the prestigious Van Cliburn International Piano Competition in 2005. The competition, which is held every four years, is one of the most prestigious piano competitions in the world and attracts some of the most talented pianists from around the globe. Berger's win at the competition catapulted him to international fame and established him as one of the most promising young pianists of his generation. Following his win at the Van Cliburn International Piano Competition, Berger began performing in some of the most prestigious concert halls in the world, including Carnegie Hall in New York City, the Berlin Philharmonic, and the Royal Albert Hall in London. He also began collaborating with some of the most renowned orchestras in the world, including the New York Philharmonic, the Berlin Philharmonic, and the London Symphony Orchestra.
