The Cologne Radio Symphony Orchestra (CRSO) is a world-renowned classical music ensemble based in Cologne, Germany. Founded in 1947, the orchestra has a rich history of excellence in performance and has become one of the most respected orchestras in the world. The CRSO was founded by the Westdeutscher Rundfunk (WDR), a public broadcasting corporation in Germany. The orchestra was initially led by conductor Otto Klemperer, who served as its principal conductor until 1954.
