The Philharmonic Wind Orchestra (PWO) is a renowned classical music ensemble that has been captivating audiences with its exceptional performances for over three decades. The orchestra was founded in 1989 by conductor and clarinetist Norbert Nozy, who envisioned creating a wind orchestra that would showcase the beauty and versatility of wind instruments. This award is considered one of the highest honors in the wind orchestra world and is only given to the most exceptional ensembles. The PWO has also won numerous other awards and accolades throughout its career, including the First Prize at the 1995 International Wind Band Competition in Valencia, Spain, and the First Prize at the 1997 International Wind Band Competition in Kerkrade, Netherlands. In addition to its live performances, the PWO has also released several critically acclaimed recordings, including "The Best of PWO," "PWO Plays Gershwin," and "PWO Plays Bernstein."
