Birth:1978 in Nerva, SpainJavier Perianes is a renowned Spanish classical pianist who has gained international recognition for his exceptional talent and musicality. Born on September 15, 1978, in Nerva, a small town in the province of Huelva, Spain, Perianes showed an early interest in music and began playing the piano at the age of three. His parents, who were both music teachers, recognized his talent and encouraged him to pursue a career in music. Perianes received his early musical training at the Conservatory of Music in Huelva, where he studied with his mother, Carmen, and later with Juan Carlos Garvayo. He continued his studies at the Conservatory of Music in Seville, where he studied with JoaquÃn Soriano and later with Alicia de Larrocha, one of the most celebrated pianists of the 20th century. Perianes made his debut as a soloist at the age of 15, performing Mozart's Piano Concerto No. 21 with the Huelva Symphony Orchestra. He went on to win several national and international competitions, including the Jaén International Piano Competition in 1993, the Paloma O'Shea Santander International Piano Competition in 1995, and the First Prize at the José Iturbi International Piano Competition in Valencia in 1999. Perianes has performed with some of the world's leading orchestras, including the Berlin Philharmonic, the London Symphony Orchestra, the Royal Concertgebouw Orchestra, the New York Philharmonic, and the Boston Symphony Orchestra. He has collaborated with many renowned conductors, such as Daniel Barenboim, Gustavo Dudamel, Charles Dutoit, and Zubin Mehta. Perianes has also performed at some of the world's most prestigious music festivals, including the Salzburg Festival, the Lucerne Festival, the Edinburgh International Festival, and the BBC Proms. He has given recitals in major concert halls around the world, including Carnegie Hall in New York, the Royal Albert Hall in London, the Berlin Philharmonie, and the Théâtre des Champs-Élysées in Paris. Perianes is known for his interpretations of the music of Spanish composers, such as Manuel de Falla, Isaac Albéniz, and Federico Mompou. He has recorded several albums of Spanish music, including "Isaac Albéniz: Iberia" and "Manuel de Falla: Nights in the Gardens of Spain," which have received critical acclaim. Perianes has also recorded works by other composers, such as Mozart, Schubert, Chopin, and Debussy. His recording of Mozart's Piano Concertos Nos. 25 and 26 with the Scottish Chamber Orchestra and conductor Jaime MartÃn was nominated for a Grammy Award in 2018. Perianes has received numerous awards and honors for his contributions to the world of classical music. In 2002, he was awarded the National Music Prize by the Spanish Ministry of Culture. He was also awarded the Medal of Andalusia in 2012, the Gold Medal for Fine Arts by the Spanish government in 2018, and the Medal of Honor of the City of Seville in 2019. In addition to his performing career, Perianes is also a dedicated teacher. He has taught masterclasses at several music schools and conservatories around the world, including the Royal College of Music in London, the Juilliard School in New York, and the Shanghai Conservatory of Music.
