Anu Komsi is a Finnish soprano who has made a name for herself in the world of classical music. Born on June 21, 1967, in Kokkola, Finland, Komsi grew up in a musical family. Her father was a music teacher, and her mother was a pianist. Komsi started playing the piano at the age of six and began singing in a choir when she was eight years old. Komsi's love for music continued to grow, and she decided to pursue a career in music. She studied at the Sibelius Academy in Helsinki, where she received her degree in vocal performance. After completing her studies, Komsi began performing in various operas and concerts in Finland. In 1995, Komsi made her international debut at the Salzburg Festival in Austria, where she performed in the world premiere of Kaija Saariaho's opera "L'amour de loin."
