Adrian Partington showed an early interest in music and began playing the piano at the age of six. He later learned to play the organ and became a chorister at Gloucester Cathedral. He attended King's School, Gloucester, where he was a member of the school choir and played the organ at the school chapel. He went on to study music at the Royal College of Music in London, where he was awarded the Walford Davies Prize for organ playing. After completing his studies, Adrian Partington began his career as a freelance organist and conductor. He worked with several choirs and orchestras, including the London Philharmonic Orchestra, the Royal Philharmonic Orchestra, and the BBC Symphony Orchestra.
