After completing her studies, Désert began performing in concerts across Europe and the United States. She quickly gained a reputation for her technical skill and musicality, and her performances were praised by critics and audiences alike. She has also collaborated with many renowned conductors, such as Kurt Masur, Leonard Slatkin, and Myung-Whun Chung. One of Désert's most notable performances was her rendition of Ravel's Piano Concerto in G Major with the Orchestre National de France in 1995.
