From a young age, Porter showed a natural talent for music and began playing the piano at the age of four. Porter's parents recognized her talent and encouraged her to pursue music seriously. She began taking piano lessons and quickly progressed, winning her first competition at the age of six. Porter continued to excel in music throughout her childhood and teenage years, performing in numerous concerts and competitions. In 2003, Porter was accepted into the prestigious Juilliard School in New York City, where she studied under renowned pianist Yoheved Kaplinsky. During her time at Juilliard, Porter honed her skills and developed her own unique style of playing. She also had the opportunity to perform in some of the world's most prestigious concert halls, including Carnegie Hall and Lincoln Center. After graduating from Juilliard in 2007, Porter began her professional career as a classical pianist. She quickly gained recognition for her exceptional talent and was invited to perform with some of the world's leading orchestras, including the New York Philharmonic and the London Symphony Orchestra. One of Porter's most notable performances was at the 2010 International Tchaikovsky Competition in Moscow, where she was awarded the Silver Medal. Her performance of Tchaikovsky's Piano Concerto No. 1 was praised for its technical brilliance and emotional depth. In addition to her performances as a soloist, Porter is also an accomplished chamber musician. She has collaborated with some of the world's leading musicians, including violinist Joshua Bell and cellist Yo-Yo Ma. Porter is also a passionate advocate for contemporary classical music and has premiered works by several prominent composers. In 2015, she was awarded the Avery Fisher Career Grant, one of the most prestigious awards in classical music.
