Role:EnsembleGenre:VocalEnsemble Barocco Sans Souci is a classical music ensemble that specializes in Baroque music. The ensemble was founded in 2005 by a group of musicians who shared a passion for early music and historical performance practices. The founding members of the ensemble were violinist Maria Krestinskaya, cellist Dmitry Badiarov, and harpsichordist Olga Martynova. The ensemble takes its name from the Sanssouci Palace in Potsdam, Germany, which was built by Frederick the Great in the 18th century. The palace was a center of culture and music during Frederick's reign, and the ensemble chose the name to reflect their commitment to performing music from this period. Ensemble Barocco Sans Souci has since grown to include a number of other musicians, including flutist Anna Besson, oboist Alfredo Bernardini, and bassoonist Lorenzo Alpert. The ensemble performs on period instruments, using historical performance practices to recreate the sound and style of Baroque music. One of the highlights of Ensemble Barocco Sans Souci's career was their performance at the 2010 Festival de Musique Baroque de Pontoise in France. The ensemble received critical acclaim for their performance of works by Bach, Handel, and Vivaldi, and they were invited back to the festival in 2012. In 2013, Ensemble Barocco Sans Souci released their debut album, "Bach: Sonatas for Violin and Harpsichord." The album received widespread praise for its virtuosic performances and authentic interpretation of Bach's music. The ensemble has also been recognized for their educational outreach programs, which aim to introduce young audiences to the music of the Baroque period. They have performed in schools and community centers throughout Europe, and have been praised for their engaging and informative presentations. Ensemble Barocco Sans Souci has received numerous awards and accolades for their performances and recordings. In 2015, they were awarded the Diapason d'Or for their recording of Bach's "Brandenburg Concertos," and in 2017 they received the Gramophone Award for their recording of Handel's "Water Music." Today, Ensemble Barocco Sans Souci continues to perform and record music from the Baroque period, delighting audiences with their virtuosic performances and authentic interpretation of this rich and vibrant musical tradition.More....
