Artist Info
Orchestra Mozart is a classical music ensemble that was founded in 2004 by the renowned Italian conductor Claudio Abbado. The ensemble was created with the aim of bringing together some of the most talented musicians from around the world to perform the works of the great composers of classical music. The founding of Orchestra Mozart was a significant event in the world of classical music. Claudio Abbado was already a highly respected conductor, having worked with some of the world's leading orchestras, including the Berlin Philharmonic and the Vienna State Opera. His decision to create a new ensemble was seen as a bold move, but one that was welcomed by many in the classical music community. The main members of Orchestra Mozart are drawn from some of the world's leading orchestras and music schools. The ensemble is made up of around 50 musicians, including string players, woodwind players, brass players, and percussionists. Many of the musicians are soloists in their own right, and have won numerous awards and accolades for their performances. One of the highlights of Orchestra Mozart's early performances was a series of concerts in 2005 that were dedicated to the music of Wolfgang Amadeus Mozart. The ensemble performed a selection of Mozart's most famous works, including his Symphony No. 40 and his Piano Concerto No. 21. The concerts were a huge success, and helped to establish Orchestra Mozart as one of the leading classical music ensembles in the world. Over the years, Orchestra Mozart has continued to perform a wide range of classical music, from the works of Bach and Beethoven to more contemporary composers such as Arvo Pärt and György Ligeti. The ensemble has also collaborated with some of the world's leading soloists, including pianist Martha Argerich and violinist Gil Shaham. One of the most notable performances by Orchestra Mozart was a concert in 2011 that was dedicated to the music of Gustav Mahler. The ensemble performed Mahler's Symphony No. 5, which is widely regarded as one of the composer's greatest works. The concert was a huge success, and was praised by critics for its powerful and emotional performance. In addition to its performances, Orchestra Mozart has also won numerous awards and accolades for its recordings. The ensemble has released several albums, including recordings of Mozart's Piano Concertos and Beethoven's Symphony No. 7. These recordings have been praised for their technical excellence and their ability to capture the emotion and beauty of the music. Sadly, Claudio Abbado passed away in 2014, but his legacy lives on through Orchestra Mozart. The ensemble continues to perform and record, and remains one of the most respected and admired classical music ensembles in the world. Its commitment to excellence and its dedication to the music of the great composers of classical music ensure that it will continue to inspire and delight audiences for many years to come.More....
