Paul Huang is a Taiwanese-American violinist who has quickly established himself as one of the most exciting and sought-after musicians of his generation. Born in 1990 in Taiwan, Huang began playing the violin at the age of seven and quickly showed a natural talent for the instrument. He moved to the United States at the age of 11 to study at the Colburn School in Los Angeles, where he studied with Robert Lipsett. Huang's talent was quickly recognized, and he began to win numerous awards and competitions. In 2009, he won first prize in the Young Concert Artists International Auditions, which led to his debut recital at Carnegie Hall's Weill Recital Hall. He also won first prize in the 2011 International Violin Competition Sion-Valais in Switzerland, and in 2015 he won the prestigious Avery Fisher Career Grant. Huang has performed with many of the world's leading orchestras, including the Cleveland Orchestra, the Los Angeles Philharmonic, the National Symphony Orchestra, and the San Francisco Symphony. He has also performed at major music festivals around the world, including the Aspen Music Festival, the Ravinia Festival, and the Verbier Festival. One of Huang's most notable performances was his debut with the New York Philharmonic in 2017, where he performed Tchaikovsky's Violin Concerto under the baton of Jaap van Zweden. The performance was widely praised, with The New York Times calling Huang's playing "technically immaculate, vibrant in tone, and expressively nuanced." Huang is also an avid chamber musician and has collaborated with many of the world's leading musicians, including pianist Anne-Marie McDermott, cellist Steven Isserlis, and violinist Gil Shaham. He is a member of the Chamber Music Society of Lincoln Center's CMS Two program, which supports young musicians in the early stages of their careers. In addition to his performing career, Huang is also committed to music education and outreach. He has worked with the Music for Food organization, which raises money for hunger relief, and has given masterclasses and workshops at schools and universities around the world. Huang plays on the 1742 ex-Wieniawski Guarneri del Gesù violin, on loan from the Stradivari Society of Chicago. The instrument was previously owned by the legendary violinist Henryk Wieniawski and has been played by many of the world's greatest violinists. In conclusion, Paul Huang is a remarkable musician who has achieved a great deal at a young age. His talent, dedication, and passion for music have earned him numerous awards and accolades, and he is widely regarded as one of the most exciting violinists of his generation. With his virtuosic playing and deep musicality, he is sure to continue to captivate audiences around the world for many years to come.More....
