Born in Moscow, Russia in 1978, Ogrintchouk began his musical journey at a young age, showing a natural talent for the oboe. He began his studies at the Gnessin School of Music in Moscow, where he was taught by Natalia Gureeva, one of the most respected oboe teachers in Russia. At the age of 16, Ogrintchouk moved to Paris to continue his studies at the Conservatoire National Supérieur de Musique et de Danse de Paris. There, he studied under the tutelage of Maurice Bourgue, one of the most renowned oboists of the 20th century. Under Bourgue's guidance, Ogrintchouk honed his skills and developed a deep understanding of the oboe and its repertoire. Ogrintchouk's talent was quickly recognized, and he began to receive invitations to perform with some of the world's most prestigious orchestras. In 2001, he was appointed principal oboist of the Rotterdam Philharmonic Orchestra, a position he held for six years. During his time in Rotterdam, Ogrintchouk established himself as one of the leading oboists of his generation, and his performances were praised for their technical brilliance and emotional depth. In 2007, Ogrintchouk left the Rotterdam Philharmonic Orchestra to pursue a solo career. Since then, he has performed with some of the world's most renowned orchestras, including the Berlin Philharmonic, the London Symphony Orchestra, and the New York Philharmonic. He has also collaborated with some of the most celebrated conductors of our time, including Sir Simon Rattle, Daniel Barenboim, and Valery Gergiev. Ogrintchouk's repertoire is vast and varied, and he is equally at home performing works from the Baroque era as he is performing contemporary pieces. He has premiered works by some of the most important composers of our time, including Kaija Saariaho, Jörg Widmann, and Matthias Pintscher. His performances are characterized by their technical precision, musical sensitivity, and emotional depth. In addition to his work as a performer, Ogrintchouk is also a respected teacher. He has taught at the Conservatoire National Supérieur de Musique et de Danse de Paris and the Hochschule für Musik und Theater München, and he has given masterclasses around the world. His students have gone on to successful careers as oboists, and many of them have won prestigious awards and competitions.
