Maxim Rysanov is a Ukrainian-born classical music artist who has made a name for himself as a violist, conductor, and chamber musician. Born on October 1, 1978, in Ukraine, Rysanov began his musical journey at a young age. He started playing the violin at the age of six and later switched to the viola at the age of fourteen. Rysanov's musical talent was evident from an early age, and he quickly became a rising star in the classical music world. He studied at the Kiev Music School and later at the Guildhall School of Music and Drama in London, where he received his Bachelor's and Master's degrees. Throughout his career, Rysanov has performed with some of the world's most prestigious orchestras, including the London Symphony Orchestra, the Royal Philharmonic Orchestra, and the BBC Symphony Orchestra. He has also collaborated with renowned conductors such as Valery Gergiev, Sir Simon Rattle, and Vladimir Ashkenazy. One of Rysanov's most notable performances was his debut at the BBC Proms in 2007, where he performed the world premiere of Mark-Anthony Turnage's "On Opened Ground" with the BBC Symphony Orchestra. The performance was met with critical acclaim, and Rysanov was praised for his virtuosic playing and emotional depth. In addition to his work as a soloist, Rysanov is also a passionate chamber musician. He has performed with some of the world's most celebrated chamber ensembles, including the Borodin Quartet, the Jerusalem Quartet, and the Nash Ensemble. He is also a founding member of the Rysanov Piano Trio, which has received critical acclaim for their performances and recordings. In 2008, he was awarded the Classic FM Gramophone Young Artist of the Year award, and in 2010, he received the prestigious Borletti-Buitoni Trust Award, which recognizes outstanding young musicians. He has conducted orchestras such as the Moscow Philharmonic Orchestra, the Royal Northern Sinfonia, and the Lithuanian Chamber Orchestra. He is also the principal conductor of the Camerata Tchaikovsky, a chamber orchestra based in Kiev. Rysanov's passion for music extends beyond his performances and conducting work. He is also a dedicated teacher and mentor, and he has given masterclasses at some of the world's leading music institutions, including the Royal Academy of Music in London and the Juilliard School in New York. In 2019, he released an album titled "Recomposed by Max Richter: Vivaldi, The Four Seasons," which reimagines Vivaldi's iconic work through a contemporary lens.
