The Orchestre Philharmonique des Pays de Loire (OPPL) is a classical music ensemble based in Nantes, France. The orchestra was founded in 1971 by conductor Marc Soustrot and has since become one of the most renowned orchestras in France. The OPPL is composed of 90 musicians, including some of the most talented instrumentalists in France. The orchestra's repertoire includes a wide range of classical music, from Baroque to contemporary, and it regularly performs in major concert halls throughout France and Europe. One of the highlights of the OPPL's history was its performance at the 1989 Festival de Saint-Denis, where it played Beethoven's Ninth Symphony under the direction of Marc Soustrot. The performance was widely acclaimed and helped to establish the orchestra's reputation as one of the best in France. Over the years, the OPPL has collaborated with many renowned soloists and conductors, including Martha Argerich, Maxim Vengerov, and Emmanuel Krivine.
